OSPMADRD 38: Global Trends: Anticipating the Future in Order to Shape It

Project description

Examination of "megatrends" such as globalization and interdependence, demographic change, the rise of new powers, increasing prosperity and inequality, demand for limited resources, diffusion of power, and demands on governments everywhere; how they interact, and possible implications for the international system. Also examination of potential "game changers" such as climate change, new technologies, the global economy, and what the United States does/does not do. Goal is enhanced understanding of the challenges we face, how they interact, and what can/must be done to preserve peace and prosperity, maximize benefits, and minimize risks.
