This course addresses key topics in disaster prevention and recovery. To understand�disasters, students will learn about climate change, as well as the fields of vulnerability, resilience, and adaptation. The focus of the course is on developing an understanding of problems and trends in disaster policy/planning/management, discussing challenges, and thinking through likely outcomes of innovative policy interventions. Students will discuss lessons learned from academic research and professional practice to ensure more effective management of natural and manmade�disasters.�
