This course explores the historical, theoretical and ethnographic conceptualizations to analyze key policies, policy reports and policy actors shaping the politics of Black schooling. We will pay particular attention to political and policy actors shaping Black schooling: Ideologies undergirding reform proposals and how racial and political economic context shape school reform.
