Examines health education and physical education in primary and secondary school contexts. Develops knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum, and programming. Critically examines how contemporary issues in the fields of health, sport and physical education impact schools.

By the end of this course, students will be able to: Critique the nature of contemporary Health and Physical Education in schools (Capability 1.1, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3) Critically reflect on the nature of future oriented Health and Physical Education programmes in schools (Capability 2.3, 3.1 and 6.2) Demonstrate an understanding of of how curriculum in HPE is developed and shaped (Capability 2.2, 4.1 and 6.2)
